    We have all probably seen the statistics about the We have all probably seen the statistics about the value of music in early childhood — it improves critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and helps them to be resilient, creative, and confident — we don’t talk as often about the value of all the little glimmers of magic that show up in rehearsals and performances. Whether or not a child dreams of becoming musician is irrelevant: they will take everything they experience in choir with them into all the futures that they dream of. They’ll always remember stretching their mind around a new language, the sound of a clarinet, the friend standing next to them as their voice soars over violins, the sound of hundreds of people applauding, the glow of family and friends coming together to support them in one shining moment of joy. In the Saint Ignatius Children’s Choirs, our philosophy is that we meet each other where we are, and we make the most beautiful music together that we can. I hope that you’ll consider having your child join us in making music together this season.
